Helping Hands for Small Paws

A Community of Compassionate Small Animal Lovers

Helping Hands for Small Paws is a dedicated volunteer group united by a shared passion for rescuing and supporting small-pawed animals. This small but compassionate community is made up of individuals who offer their time, support, advice, and encouragement to fellow rescuers, and who help small animals in need.

While not a registered charity or funded organization, Helping Hands for Small Paws operates solely on the personal contributions of its members. All costs associated with rescuing, fostering, and adopting animals are covered out of their own pockets. This group does not operate a shelter, but instead focuses on providing crucial assistance to those who rescue and care for small animals.

Though they support all small-pawed creatures (excluding cats and dogs), the overwhelming number of dumped rabbits requires the majority of their efforts. They also assist in rehoming hamsters, guinea pigs, and other small animals, although these pets are generally easier to find homes for.

The heart of Helping Hands for Small Paws lies in their devoted foster community. Many of the foster carers, some of whom become lifetime adopters, are the backbone of this group. These kind people provide a temporary home for animals in need, and their dedication ensures that the animals receive the care and attention they deserve.

Helping Hands for Small Paws is always open to new foster families and adopters. They are eager to chat with anyone interested in fostering or adopting, providing guidance on the requirements and expectations that come with such responsibilities. This volunteer group’s commitment to animal welfare continues to make a significant impact, one small paw at a time.
